Companies today are focusing more attention than ever on their work-life strategies and practices. This is due, in part, to the now well-established link between work-life and important employee outcomes, such as burnout, stress, health, and performance.  In todays tight labor market, work-life benefits and flexibility can also serve as a key differentiator for attracting and retaining critical talent. Although parental leave policies and family-friendly benefits have historically taken central stage, many companies are now exploring new work-life benefits to keep pace with the needs and preferences of an ever-changing workforce. Thus, a key question companies are asking with regard to their work-life strategy is whats next?

At this meeting, we will discuss the topics below but will also leave plenty of time for other topics to emerge over the course of the days discussion:

  • Currently, what are the key components of your work-life strategy? How does your work-life strategy support (or not) your business and talent strategies?
  • What are some of the challenges you have encountered with respect to your current work-life benefits? How have you sought to address them?
  • How does flexibility currently fit within your work-life strategy? How do you see the prevalence and nature of flexibility within your company evolving in the future?
  • To what extent does workplace design currently factor into your work-life strategy?
  • How are you accounting for the work-life needs and preferences of different segments of your workforce (e.g., different generations)?
  • What strategies have found effective for communicating work-life benefits to employees and increasing utilization?
  • As you look to the future, what work-life benefits are you considering and why?

With that background, we are pleased to invite your company to participate in this Work-Life working group, co-hosted by CAHRS and American Express in New York City.  Attendees should have responsibility for helping to define and/or deliver their companys work-life strategy.

The meeting agenda will allow ample time for interaction and networking something we consider critical to the goal of our working groups.  This session is free of charge to CAHRS partner firms.  To effectively create the right environment and to ensure free and open discussion, we limit the size of the meeting to 25 participants.
