SESSION IS FULL
Looking Ahead: Bringing Employees Back to the Workplace
Virtual Working Groups
April 28, 2020 | 1:00-2:30pmEST

(We will be having two other sessions on this topic as well, one on April 23rd from 10:00-11:30amEST and another one on April 29th from 4:00-5:30pmEST.  Each of the sessions have their own registration page, so please just sign up for one by going to the CAHRS website)

In the last week, State and Federal Governments have been increasingly starting to turn their attention to the possibility and challenges of reducing restrictions and reopening the economy.  Similarly, we have heard from many CAHRS partner companies that they are starting discussions and planning for how to bring employees back to work.  To help partner companies think through these challenges and to learn from one another, we will host a number of small, virtual CAHRS working group sessions on the broad topic of bringing employees back to the workplace.  Professor Chris Collins will facilitate a conversation between a small number of participants in each session on a range of questions including:

  • What are the key concerns or challenges in bringing employees back to the workplace?
  • For those of you that have had essential employees still physically coming to the workplace, what lessons have you learned about employee health and safety that can inform best practice in bringing other employees back to the physical workplace?
  • What are some specific ideas that you are implementing or discussing to aid in safely bringing employees back to the workplace?  May include testing, communications, changes to work environment and workspace design, social distancing practices at work, new technologies, ...
  • What are your plans in terms of how to sequence the return to work?  For example, is this facility-by-facility, certain roles/job functions before others, state regulations, etc.
  • What options will you have for employees that are unable or worried about coming back to work?

Sessions will be 90 minutes in length with no more than one participant per CAHRS partner company per session.  We will limit each session to no more than 12 participants in order to ensure that all participants have adequate time to share thoughts and ask questions.  In addition, the smaller number will make it easier to facilitate the session and create a virtual environment where it is easier for participants to see and interact with one another.  For security purposes, these Zoom working group sessions will be password protected and participation will be restricted to those participants who have been confirmed for a particular session.  Participation in these sessions is a great way to share and hear about key concerns, potential next steps and best practices, and to develop a network of HR leaders who are facing similar challenges for later one-on-one sharing and exchanges.  Ideal candidates to participate in a session would be HR leaders in your company that are part of a task force on bringing employees back to work or who have leadership responsibilities for planning on how to return employees to work.
