Although more countries and U.S. states are relaxing coronavirus containment-measures, it remains unclear when many employees will return to the office and restrictions on travel and in-person gatherings will be relaxed. To ensure the continuity of critical leadership development initiatives, particularly those targeting top talent, new leaders, and under represented populations, companies have begun to convert a number of programs from in-person to virtual delivery. To help companies think through this changing landscape and learn from one another, we will host a Virtual CAHRS Working Group focused on how companies are adjusting their leadership development programs in the wake of COVID-19. Brad Bell, William J. Conaty Professor of Strategic Human Resources and Academic Director, CAHRS, and Brenda Benaim, Head of Leadership and Talent Development, AMER at Bloomberg, will facilitate a conversation with participants around a range of questions, including:

·        Which leadership development programs are companies prioritizing for conversion to virtual delivery and why?

·        What adaptations have been made to these programs in response to the crisis?

·        How are companies trying to compensate for some of the strengths of in-person leadership development, such as networking?

·        How are these changes being communicated to key talent and how have they reacted so far? and

·        How has the content of these programs been updated, if at all, to address topics related to COVID-19, such as helping employees manage stress and leading remote teams?

The session will be 90 minutes in length and will be limited to 25 participants, with no more than one participant per CAHRS partner company. Ideal candidates to participate in this session are HR leaders in your company responsible for running and/or sponsoring critical leadership development programs. Participants should come to the session with thoughts regarding the questions above as well as any other questions they would like to tackle during the discussion.

For security purposes, these Zoom working group sessions will be password protected and participation will be restricted to those participants who have been confirmed.  Participation in this working group is a great way to share and hear about key concerns, potential next steps and best practices, and to develop a network of HR leaders who are facing similar challenges for later one-on-one sharing and exchanges.
