CAHRS Virtual Executive Roundtables | September 18, 2020

One unique and valuable aspect of the CAHRS partnership is the opportunity for CAHRS executives to interact with future HR professionals pursuing their graduate studies or finishing their undergraduate studies at Cornell to shape their educational and career choices.  Since 1997, CAHRS has offered our partners an opportunity to be involved in the annual orientation held for incoming and returning graduate students and undergraduate juniors and seniors in the School of Industrial and Labor Relations.

CAHRS first Virtual Executive Roundtable is scheduled forSeptember 18th, linking students and executives from1:00-3:30pm (EST).  We will start with an overview by the CAHRS Director. This overview will position the roundtable discussion in the context of the classes and activities that students will be considering during their studies at ILR.  We anticipate 110-130 students will attend the roundtables.   We will set up "round tables break outs where groups of students can speak to different CAHRS partner executives during seven 15-minute virtual segments.  The roundtables are meant to provide students and executives an opportunity to exchange questions and ideas about the field of HR, the most important issues facing individual companies, the skills needed by future HR professionals, and what companies look for in recruiting entry level professionals.  Students will also be able to "drop" their resumes after the event and we will forward them to you after the session.

Capacity limitations require that we limit the number of CAHRS executives participating in this event to 20.  We will first confirm the seats to the CHRO’s that desire to attend; direct reports to the CHRO may register to attend but we cannot confirm participation until we have given CHROs the opportunity to register first.   Please note that we are asking that only one company contact be involved in the roundtable session.

If you have any questions, please email Jo Hagin at jap7@cornell.edu.
