Remote Work During COVID and Beyond
Virtual Working Group
October 23 - 12:00-1:30pm (EST)
COVID-19 has led to a large-scale remote work experiment. For some companies, this represented a major shift in their work models, whereas for others it was perhaps an acceleration of a journey already underway. Regardless, the experiment has elucidated both the challenges and opportunities associated with remote work, and has raised questions about the work models that companies will adopt when employees are able to return to the office at scale.
In this working group, William J. Conaty Professor and CAHRS Academic Director Brad Bell will examine CAHRS companies’ experiences with remote work during the pandemic and how they are shaping long-term strategies about where work will be done. Some of the questions that will guide our discussion include:
- How has the transition to large-scale remote work gone within your company? What has worked well? What have been the pain points?
- How would you describe attitudes toward remote work in your company pre-COVID? How have they changed as a result of the pandemic, if at all?
- What programs and practices have been rolled out to help support remote workers in your company?
- What is your long-term strategy around remote work? What are you hearing from your employees with regard to their preferences? If people will be asked to return to the office at least part-time in the future, what will be the value proposition that will be communicated?
For security purposes, these Zoom working group sessions will be password protected and participation will be restricted to those participants who have been confirmed for a particular session. Participation in these sessions is a great way to share and hear about key concerns, potential next steps and best practices, and to develop a network of HR leaders who are facing similar challenges for later one-on-one sharing and exchanges.
