As organizations respond to growing calls for racial justice and gender equality, existing commitments to diversity along these – and other (e.g., age, sexuality) – lines have only grown deeper. While this represents a profoundly positive shift, translating it into action and, ultimately, results, presents new challenges for HR leaders.  Given this, it is not surprising that a recent CAHRS survey found that DE&I is a top priority for HR leaders heading into 2021.

During the first half of 2021, CAHRS has engaged in several work streams to better understand how companies are driving and evolving their DE&I agendas. Our Virtual Spring Partner Meeting will focus on sharing the results of this work and engaging the CAHRS community in a discussion about where DE&I efforts are headed in the future.

The Virtual Spring Partner Meeting will feature CAHRS research assistants Dhara Puvar and Ethan Call presenting the results of their semester-long research project aimed at better understanding how CAHRS companies have evolved their DE&I efforts over the past year, what challenges and opportunities have resulted from these shifts and what is next on the horizon.

In addition, CAHRS faculty members Tony Byers, John Hausknecht, and Brad Bell will share insights gained from a series of DE&I working groups that were conducted this spring.  Topics that will be covered include how companies are facilitating constructive DE&I conversations in the workplace, fostering inclusive climates, and leveraging analytics to monitor and measure DE&I.

Attendees will have an opportunity to share their own experiences and ask questions throughout the meeting.
