Talking Talent with Peers and Professors: Insights for Updating your Talent Strategy VIRTUAL Working Group
Monday, December 5, 2022 | 2:00 – 4:00pm (ET)

The COVID-19 pandemic, Great Resignation, shifting work models, and a host of other recent developments have prompted companies to reconsider their talent strategy and how they manage the talent lifecycle. Many organizations are focusing on: reevaluating the employee value proposition, improving the candidate experience, evolving learning and development, building employee engagement, and managing employee turnover and worker mobility. The goal is to not only address immediate talent challenges but also to develop a vision for finding, managing, and developing the capabilities needed to succeed in the future.

In this working group, participants will gain insights on updating their talent strategies from both peers and professors.  Three HR Studies Professors who focus on different aspects of talent management will lead the session: JR Keller (talent acquisition and worker mobility), Brad Bell (learning and development), and John Hausknecht (turnover and analytics). They will share the latest thinking and research on talent strategy while also facilitating peer-to-peer best practice sharing.

Attendees should have a role in helping define their organization’s talent strategy whether from talent acquisition, learning and development, engagement and retention, analytics, or related areas. Our goal is to engage in an integrative discussion of talent strategy and the employee life cycle. We encourage companies to send multiple attendees who span different areas.

This working group will be interactive and attendees should come prepared to share insights and best practices from their organization. We also strongly prefer that participants be on camera during the session to allow for more engaging interaction.
